Express Rail Link

The opening of Malaysia’s new international airport – the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at the cusp of the millennium called for a new high-speed rail connection between the airport and city centre.

YTL Construction undertook the construction and completion of train stations as well as the civil works portion of Malaysia’s first high-speed rail service connecting the KL International Airport (KLIA) to the KL city centre. The link comprises a 57km standard gauge rail line with a top design speed of 176km/h and a total journey time of only 28 minutes; the fastest and cheapest connection between KLIA and the KL city centre.
